Wells Fargo Donation brings total to $140,000.
Tom Discenza, Regional Business Center Manager for Wells Fargo stopped by the GCHFH offices on Friday, May 24, 2013 and presented Executive Director, John Habat with a check for $45,000. Since 2009, Wells Fargo has donated a total of $140,000 to GCHFH. Additionally, Wells Fargo employees have committed three days of volunteering this year where they will be rolling up their sleeves and helping to rehab homes for GCHFH partner families.
2 Americorp Postions Open 2013-2014 Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity will be hiring 2 Americorps National volunteers to work in our construction department. Americorps National volunteers earn a stipend, receive benefits, learn about their trade and make lifelong friends.

Thank you to everyone who attended Faith Hope and Volunteers, Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity’s 2012 Volunteer Recognition Event and Annual Meeting on November 14, 2012. We deeply appreciate your time, thought, and commitment to the mission of ending poverty housing. It goes without saying that you make our world better and we are blessed.
We would like to give a special thanks to five volunteers this year who were nominated by both staff and fellow volunteers for their outstanding contribution in teamwork, leadership, and their commitment to the mission.
Anne Caruso - Office Volunteer of the Year
Ann is a retired elementary teacher from the Cleveland City schools. Her organizational skills and gentle demeanor translates well when she develops special projects with partner families. Ann also maintains the organic flower garden in front of the ReStore, works as a receptionist and facebook content manager for the ReStore.
Debbie Boyne - Construction Volunteer of the Year
Debbie has volunteered nearly 6000 hours on at least 23 construction projects. She works with energy and integrity. Debbie is very skillful in her work. She is recognized by her peers as a good leader and teacher. Debbie serves on the Safety Committee and takes an active role in construction meetings.
Emily Hayes- Special Achievement Award
An office volunteer for the past five years with our partner affiliate group L.E.A.P, Emily is in charge of housekeeping. Habitat for Humanity is a busy place and Emily takes great pride in her responsibilities and is always looking for ways to enhance the facilities. Emily is the mother of three and a friend to all. She likes cats, scary movies and crossword puzzles.
Larry Charnas - Volunteer of the Year
Larry has volunteered for 12 years for Habitat. He is part of a construction crew two days a week and cashier in the ReStore three days a week. Larry is steadfast in his work and commitment to the mission. Larry is retired from the clothing manufacturing business and is a member of The Temple Tifereth Israel. He is the father of Adam Charnas and grandfather to Adam.
Kathy Yager - ReStore
Volunteer of the Year
This “take charge” mom, grandmother, sports fan , “ amateur home remodeler” and traveler makes room in her busy life for Habitat. A volunteer for the last three years, Kathy assists with cashiering and special projects.
